Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church "The Light on the Hill" would like to welcome all vistors.
John 8:12 Jesus once again addressed them: "I am the world's Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in."
Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church was a vision of a mission outreach as a “Light on the Hill” in 1889.
In its 100+ years our church on the top of the hill has always been blessed with praising God through worship, prayer, and music. Along with learning through Bible studies, revivals, and Vacation Bible School; the church has been a center of fellowship, outreach, and Christian support.
The first 100+ years have been years of growth and service to our Lord and Savior. The seed of faith that was planted over 100 years ago has grown into our church today. Those original saints saw a need in the East End of Sunbury and had the faith that it would succeed. Our faith and desire to go forward continues to be that of our forefathers, a desire to be a “Light on the Hill” for God.
